What Makes a Device eSIM-Compatible?
An eSIM-compatible device has a tiny embedded chip (the eUICC — Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card) soldered directly onto the motherboard. This chip acts exactly like a physical SIM card, but it can be reprogrammed wirelessly. Instead of pushing a SIM tray open with a pin, you simply scan a QR code or enter activation details in your device settings.
For a travel eSIM to work, three conditions must be met: (1) the device must have an eSIM chip, (2) the device must be carrier-unlocked, and (3) the operating system must be updated to a version that supports eSIM management (iOS 12.1+ or Android 9+).
Once those boxes are checked, you can browse our country eSIM plans, purchase, and be connected within minutes — no store visits, no shipping, no waiting.
